Biography
Aline Morvan
(born in 1982, in Courbevoie, France)
Her studies began at Paris 8 Univeristy in Saint Denis. After four years and a plastic art mastery, Aline Morvan left Paris for Limoges Beaux-Arts. Nevertheless the univeristy did not fulfill her need to practice and create. It is in Brittany, in Rennes, that she will obtain her Master in Art. Her will to continue learing will lead her to Swizterland, in Geneva, where she will follow two formations at the School of Art & Design. The first examning the relation between art and the public space and the second dealing with ceramics' contemporary practices. Today, she teaches molding at this very school.
Her art creates bridges between contextual proposals linked to public space and a enhanced research in her atelier. She defines herself at the border of Beaux-Arts and artisanat, artwork and product, decoration and object, deliberately teasing the tension between savoir-faire, artistic value of the chosen material and figurated object. From conception to perception and interpretation, not one surface is to plain to forbide our imagination to develop its own representations.
