Biography

A constant in Sylvain Larrière's sculptures is that they open, thereby developing another dimension in space and revealing a universe previously hidden from view.

Having extensively worked with metal, in recent years he has been experimenting with the use of glass in various forms: magnifying lenses, glass tubes, Fresnel lenses, curved glass, stained glass, and drops of optical fiber... a range of materials that play freely with transparency and reflection.

Sylvain Larrière is a genius craftsman, a true magician. Simultaneously a designer, lighting expert, and mechanic, he captures his worlds within minimalist sculptures with geometric forms.

Open the door, and everything begins to move! Colored disks, rods, glass tubes, heavy metal pieces... all come to life with a few discreet clicks. The artist assembles his astonishing creations in his workshop in the Côtes-d'Armor.
