Kwon In kyung

Biography

Kwon InKyung

Born in Seoul in 1979.

She graduated with a degree in Oriental Painting from Hongik University in Seoul, where she subsequently completed her academic studies with a PhD.

Kwon InKyung reinterprets the tradition of landscape painting through a new chromatic sensibility and a personal vision of space. Her environments appear as unreal scenarios that defy explanation through logic or reason. Characterized by distorted perspectives, her compositions bring together elements such as houses, rocks, mountains, and paved roads in original arrangements. In some works, domestic furniture is also incorporated into the landscape.

Using the technique of collage, the artist superimposes layers of pages from old books, in which the memories of inhabitants intertwine and coexist within the urban space.
