Peggy Guggenheim in London: The Making of a Collector retraces, through around one hundred works, the eighteen months of existence of Guggenheim Jeune—an avant-garde gallery that hosted more than twenty exhibitions between January 1938 and June 1939, including Kandinsky's first solo exhibition in Great Britain. Marie Vassilieff is among the featured artists: the section devoted to her highlights her ‘artistic dolls' and her transdisciplinary approach, which make her a singular figure of the School of Paris. Curated by Gražina Subelytė, curator at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and Simon Grant, guest curator, the exhibition engages in dialogue with the Venice Biennale 2026 and will subsequently be presented at the Royal Academy of Arts in London (November 21, 2026 – March 14, 2027), before traveling to the Guggenheim in New York in spring 2027.
